ALLIES

Enhancing Inclusive Lifelong Learning in Europe

FOREU4ALL

The primary objective of ALLIES (Alliances for Lifelong Learning, Improvement, Empowerment, and Skills) is to foster collaboration among European University to advance inclusive and accessible lifelong learning (ULLL). ALLIES aims to develop a shared understanding and standardised practices for ULLL, emphasising equitable pathways for non-traditional learners, including professionals without academic backgrounds, older adults, and other underrepresented groups.
This Community of Practice (CoP) will focus on advancing University Lifelong Learning (ULLL) through coordinated action at three levels: programme, policy, and governance. At the programme level, it aims to foster collaborative Erasmus+ project planning, develop flexible microcredential courses, and create shared standards for certification and student services. On the policy level, the CoP will engage stakeholders through position papers and policy dialogues, promote best practices, provide strategic guidelines for universities, support lifelong learner mobility, and enhance multilingualism. Strategically (governance), it will map existing ULLL alliances, explore the creation of a virtual ULLL office and course platform, support joint resource management, integrate education with research and innovation, and establish a knowledge Hub linking key regional stakeholders to drive innovation and competitiveness.

Engaging with key partners such as EUCEN and other European networks, the project will organise roundtable discussions, produce strategic position papers, and support the development of inclusive policies. By fostering collaboration and sharing expertise, ALLIES seeks to enhance the accessibility, recognition, and quality of lifelong learning opportunities for diverse learners throughout Europe. The project runs from May 2025 to October 2028.
